Studio Practice

Architecture of permanence

Operating from Clerkenwell since 2017, the studio shapes restrained residential volumes and cultural spaces through structural mass, raw limestone, and quiet tectonic honesty.

Spatial Discipline

Light and mass

We treat daylight as the primary structural element. Openings are calculated to admit low raking light across unvarnished stone, illuminating volumetric clarity rather than superficial surface ornament or applied embellishments.

Every junction between lime plaster, honed basalt, and solid timber represents an honest structural decision. By stripping away decorative clutter, each room attains an enduring stillness rooted in site geography and tactile permanence.

Core Tenet

A finished structure should feel inevitable, discovered through site restraint rather than assembled from passing decorative trends.

Site Build Execution

Topographical surveys and solar azimuth studies establish orientation, wind exposure, and foundational bedrock before any spatial drawing begins.

Physical basswood and cast-plaster scale models explore proportion and spatial compression, validating room volumes without digital distortion.

One-to-one junction mockups in monolithic limestone and untreated joinery test weathering, shadow depth, and tactile tolerances on site.

Continuous architectural presence alongside master stonemasons and glazing technicians guarantees technical precision through final handover.
